The first Code of Civil Procedure was enacted in 1859 by the Committee headed by Mr. It was amended in 1877 and, subsequently, in 1882, however, those amendments did not serve the purpose, therefore, the present Code of Civil Procedure was enacted in 1908. It was drafted by the Committee headed by Sir Earle Richards.

FOEM Clinical Pathological Case Competition (CPC)

This exciting annual competition pits residents against faculty in diagnosing a difficult case. It takes place during the ACOEP Scientific Assembly. Residents submit the case without final diagnosis, and the faculty member is given one month to develop a diagnosis. Both residents and faculty submit PowerPoint presentations. Each program must have a resident and faculty member in order to participate.

This is FOEM’s most prestigious event. Participants submit their research papers for review by a panel of physician experts. The panel identifies the top 3 papers prior to conference, and the winning authors present their findings at the ACOEP Scientific Assembly annually.

• FOEM will give up to $3500 annually for the best student/resident research papers. Typically the top
3 papers get $2000, $1000, and $500 respectively, but FOEM reserves the right to withhold funds if
quality work is not submitted. FOEM may also divide the money between 2 papers or give it to one
winner depending on the circumstance.
